I Will Trust in the LORD...

This morning, I woke up thinking about my day, looking over my life and how God has spare me from dangerous health issues, provided wonderful opportunities and moved graciously in various situations...and this verse popped up in my heart again..."Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths". (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)

Then I started sing a song I have heard over and over as a child growing up in the Black Baptist Church...those Negro Spirituals brought our people through. I will trust in the Lord began to softly play in mind...the words make sense...perfect sense now!!

We will trust in the Lord even when we dont understand what is going on in our lives.

I know, we may not understand everything but the Lord wants us to trust Him through it all...when times are good, and when times are bad, when don't understand our trials of faith, when the health report is enough to cause us to worry, when freinds turn into foes...on and on the list can go.

We can not lean on our own understanding because we dont know the whole story of our lives. We can not see whole picture as God does. He knows the whys of our lives. Beloved, we should not try to figure it out...it will only lead to frustration in our souls...been there, done that...nothing good comes out of trying to figure God out. His ways are not our ways.

Look at "In all your ways acknowledge Him", there is a 's' on ways. We have several ways.

So we must acknowledge Him first and seek His will on our ways of living... in the way that we live, in the way that we talk, in the way we treat people...in the ways that we live our lives.

So He knows the paths we are to take ...He wants to guide us through this life with our hands firmly grasping His...holding each others' hands tight.

What a beautiful picture...trusting GOD through everything, talking to Him before you do something, listening to Him when He shows you a better way or giving you the good feeling that come when you make the right choice or going back to Him when you makeca wrong choice and ask for forgivness...all while holding His unchanging hands through it all.

I leave you with this...let it play softly in your mind....I will trust in the Lord Negro Spiritual Hymnal

I will trust in the Lord,

I will trust in the Lord,

I will trust in the Lord till I die.

I will trust in the Lord,

I will trust in the Lord,

I will trust in the Lord till I die.
